System Facilities Eliminates Film & Chemical Use In Plate
Making and Screen Printing
System Facilities offers NewsCraft LGN Imaging Paper -
eliminating film and chemical use in plate making and screen printing allowing
for direct to screen or plate digital imaging using a laser printer.
NewsCraft LGN Imaging Paper makes four-page tab and four-color separations
possible without camera negatives. Screens and plates can be created directly
from a laser printer reducing production costs while maintaining high
resolution quality. LGN, a modified vellum paper, has been treated to
make it dimensionally stable under the heat and pressure of laser printing,
while still offering excellent toner adhesion. Use of LGN paper does not
require special computer software or unique plate making equipment. A simple
reduction of exposure time allows for the best results with plates, while
screens are exposed as usual. LGN is available from stock in letter,
legal, tabloid, A3, A4 and oversized sheets, as well as special order sizes.
Evaluation quantities of LGN are also available through SFI. System
Facilities is the exclusive developer of NewsCraft LGN Imaging Paper,
distributed world wide.
System Facilities Introduces Improved NewsCraft LGN Imaging
Paper
System Facilities introduces Improved NewsCraft
LGN -- Laser Generated Positive and Negative paper-eliminates camera step
in screen plate making. System Facilities has demonstrated its
NewsCraft LGN --Laser Generated Positive and Negative paper--at several
industry trade shows. System Facilities showed 11" x 14 process and spot
color separations and halftones with 85 line screens that were produced using
LGN rather than film. LGN is now being used very successfully in screen
printing, sign making, and printing applications with a variety of plate
materials. NewsCraft LGN paper can be used in most laser printers to
produce inexpensive negatives or positive that can be used to directly create
screens or plates without going through the camera step. This eliminates the
expense of film and chemicals as well as the environment problems associated
with disposing of the used chemicals. It also saves time, especially in the
event of having to remake a screen or plate at the last minute. LGN
paper is a resin-coated translucent paper which has been specially treated to
make it dimensionally stable under the heat and pressure of laser printing. The
unique properties of NewsCraft LGN paper have enabled System Facilities to
successfully use it for four color separations with excellent registration both
on plates and screens. No special computer software or screen or plate making
equipment is required. Initial development of NewsCraft LGN was done
with a 12OO dpi 11" x l4 laser printer; however, NewsCraft LGN paper is
compatible with most laser printers from 3OO dpi to 18OO dpi. The key
requirement is that the printer be able to produce a solid black. Special order
sizes and evaluation packages are also available from System Facilities.

System Facilities Goes Online New Web Address Is
www.systemfacilities.com
System Facilities announces their new site on the
Internet's world wide web at www.systemfacilities.com. The new site has been
designed to meet the needs of professional printers. Industry insiders will
find the site complete in its information about the use of the company's
NewsCraft LGN Imaging Paper. The System Facilities web site features
complete technical and product use information, trouble shooting tips, and case
studies detailing how NewsCraft LGN Imaging Paper is being used by screen and
offset printers to shorten production schedules and reduce in-plant costs.
Management at System Facilities hailed the new web site as a way to
rapidly communicate the company's message globally, while making it easy for
customers to communicate with the company. The site features several
easy-to-use online forms allowing printers to communicate with SFI. "In an
industry and business environment where speed is critical for success, the
Internet's world wide web is becoming the communication vehicle that delivers
that speed. SFI has always brought cutting edge technologies to the printing
industry and using the web to improve our communications with customers just
seemed a natural move." said a company spokesman. NewsCraft LGN
Imaging Paper is the preferred product to generate negatives on laser printers
directly from computer software. This "direct-to-negative" approach eliminates
the camera, darkroom, and messy chemicals needed to create a negative in the
traditional, time consuming way. System Facilities markets NewsCraft
Imaging Paper directly to customers. The product is also available through
selected distributors around the world. System Facilities is
